Jump-Start is Medicine Show's yearly series of staged readings of new works. Each rehearses 3-4 times and performs twice. This is a hands-on experience for the writers, who are present for at least one rehearsal & both performances so they can answer questions & make changes. Staging is anything actors can do script in hand, so writers experience their work both visually and aurally. Directors & actors can stretch without full-performance pressure.
We welcome submissions of new work throughout the year.
